Mission

To foster an environment for Austin Community College students to learn the values of civic engagement, social responsibility and volunteerism.

Vision
Through strengthening partnerships between Austin Community College and local communities, we will develop a spirit of service and leadership in lifelong responsible citizenship.

Goals
To promote civic engagement, positively impact the lives of ACC students, foster healthy social and environmental change in the greater Austin community, and connect students with volunteer opportunities.



Fall Semester
  • Project: Build a Park - Going into its ninth year, Project: Build a Park (PBAP) is an award-winning partnership between the ACC Office of Student Life and the Austin Parks Foundation
  • Hunger and Homelessness Awareness week

Spring Semester

  • Project: Serve - Coordinated by Student Government, Phi Theta Kappa and Sigma Alpha Pi, the entire community is invited to volunteer.
  • iVolunteer (National Volunteer Week)

Awards

  • Who’s Who - Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges is a national organization that honors students for achievement in community and college involvement. This is a unique opportunity to recognize ACC students’ academic success, leadership abilities, and volunteer efforts.
  • Presidential Student Achievement Award - The Presidential Student Achievement Award is the most prestigious ACC award earned by a student who, despite obstacles, has demonstrated academic excellence, service to ACC and the community, and commitment to ACC values and vision.

Perhaps you’ve heard of a non-profit organization but don’t know enough about their operations to trust them with your precious money. "I Live Here, I Give Here" is committed to helping you answer these questions and to connect you with non-profits that focus on the issues you care about.
